to get used to, to become accustomed to

Example
日本の生活に慣れるまで時間がかかりました。
にほんのせいかつになれるまでじかんがかかりました。
Nihon no seikatsu ni nareru made jikan ga kakarimashita.
It took time to get used to life in Japan.
Takes the particle に to indicate what you're getting used to. Very useful for describing adaptation to new situations.
